Personal Care Assistant

 Job Summary:


The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to clients in their homes. The PCA ensures that clients receive quality care and maintain their independence and well-being.


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed.

- Provide light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and changing bed linens.

- Assist with errands and transportation to appointments as needed.

- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.

- Monitor clients' vital signs and report any changes to the Supervisor.

- Document care provided and observations in client records.

- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the healthcare team.

- Adhere to all agency policies and procedures and maintain client confidentiality.


Qualifications:

 

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Experience in caregiving, home health care, or a related field preferred.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
